My Pre-Baby Bucket List

As a young mom-to-be, there are a few things I'd like to do before the baby arrives and inevitably consumes all my free time and energy. Don't get me wrong - I couldn't be more excited for this wonderful new adventure. But there are a few things I'd like to accomplish in the next 4 months in case I don't get around to it for the next one or two or ten years. Some are simple pleasures; others are more challenging goals. My hope is that by sharing my list I'll be held more accountable, if only by my ten year old brother (he keeps me in line!).

By May 31, 2011, I will...

  • Have read at least 5 new novels (I'm starting the first one tonight...the new Nicholas Sparks book, of course!)
  • Have eaten my first, and probably last, KFC Double Down Sandwich (you only live once, right?)
  • Have sewn, with my own sewing machine that I've owned for over a year and still barely know how to use, at least one thing for the baby and one thing for myself
  • Have gone to Vegas for a weekend with my hubby (I've never been there and think it would be classic to go as a pregnant lady)
  • Have taken a beginner's photography class to learn how to use our new camera
  • Have gained a sister-in-law (this one should be easy)

This seems like a good start. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

  1. Two thoughts:

    1. The fetus bubble on the right margin is a great addition

    2. I would recommend trying both the fried and grilled Double Downs. Each is uniquely savory. Each is worthy of a single sampling, but nothing more.

  10. Hey Betsy! We actually got the same camera as you. I wish we lived in the same city so you could teach me how to use it!
