Our New Crib

In less than a month, we will be moving out of our apartment and into our very first house. We looked at a total of 10 houses in two weeks and Lucky #7 turned out to be the perfect one for us. We take posession on March 12 and will be moving the weekend of March 12-13. Again, if anyone is in need of a spring getaway weekend to warm, sunny Arizona, we'll provide a free place to stay in exchange for a few hours of packing and lifting!

The house, which we'll be renting, has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. It's 10 miles closer to my office, which will cut my commute in half - woo hoo!!! A bonus to the house is that we'll have access to a private neighborhood pool just around the corner from us. You of course would be welcome to that as well if you come visit. :) More pictures to come once we move in and get all settled.

What Will Baby Rouse Look Like?

One of the things we have been anticipating the most about the arrival of our little one is seeing what, or should I say who, he or she will look like.

Mommy?

Or Daddy?

Of course we just want a healthy baby. However, if we could pick and choose features from each other to make the perfect baby face, it would go a little something like this...

Lyndie's big, sparkling green eyes
Jonathan's cute little button nose
Lyndie's high cheek bones
Jonathan's big, luscious lips
Lyndie's fine forehead
Jonathan's chinny chinn chin
Lyndie's sun-kissed hair
Jonathan's perfect ears

And, according to www.ourbabymaker.com, this is what we would get:

Yikes! At least it doesn't have facial hair. Let's hope technology never gets to the point where we can "order" our baby's features. I think we're better off leaving that part up to The Big Guy Upstairs.

My Pregnancy Must-Haves & Favorite Finds

Belly Band - It's like spanx for your belly. It allows you to be much more versatile with your wardrobe, smooths everything out, and helps support your back. I love it! I got mine at Target for about $15.

Mama Mio Tummy Rub Oil - Helps prevent stretch marks. Non-greasy, all natural, and smells so yummy.

Yoga DVDs - Good for the body, mind, and soul. (Thank you to my friend Carolyn for the yoga pregnancy set!)

Whole Grain Macaroni & Cheese - Whole Grains do a pregnant body good.

V8 VFusion - Each can has a full serving of fruit and a full serving of veggies.

Nutella - This hazelnut spread is perfect for satisfying my chocolate cravings. Eat it by the spoonful, on toast, graham crackers, cookies, strawberries...the possibilities are endless.

Leggings - Comfy and cute, they go with almost any outfit!

Posing at a work function last week - 22 weeks along

Flossers - Easy way to keep gums healthy - very important during pregnancy. I have to admit I didn't floss on a regular basis before I was pregnant, but now I do it every night thanks to these nifty little flossers.

Chocolate Cheerios - Favorite late night snack. Delicious and nutritious!

One new pair of sassy high heals - Keeps you feeling good about yourself despite gaining weight, being constantly bloated, eating like a pig, etc. Plus, I didn't realize that your feet grow when you're pregnant, so a new pair of shoes was desperately needed.

Got these today. Imitation snake skin pumps on sale at Nordstrom Rack...way cuter in person. Love!

My Pre-Baby Bucket List

As a young mom-to-be, there are a few things I'd like to do before the baby arrives and inevitably consumes all my free time and energy. Don't get me wrong - I couldn't be more excited for this wonderful new adventure. But there are a few things I'd like to accomplish in the next 4 months in case I don't get around to it for the next one or two or ten years. Some are simple pleasures; others are more challenging goals. My hope is that by sharing my list I'll be held more accountable, if only by my ten year old brother (he keeps me in line!).

By May 31, 2011, I will...

  • Have read at least 5 new novels (I'm starting the first one tonight...the new Nicholas Sparks book, of course!)
  • Have eaten my first, and probably last, KFC Double Down Sandwich (you only live once, right?)
  • Have sewn, with my own sewing machine that I've owned for over a year and still barely know how to use, at least one thing for the baby and one thing for myself
  • Have gone to Vegas for a weekend with my hubby (I've never been there and think it would be classic to go as a pregnant lady)
  • Have taken a beginner's photography class to learn how to use our new camera
  • Have gained a sister-in-law (this one should be easy)

This seems like a good start. I'll keep you updated on my progress.
